Pool robots are self-propelled, fully automated cleaning devices for optimal pool cleaning. They autonomously remove deposits and coarser dirt from the bottom and walls of your pool. By using a pool robot, you minimise the use of your filter system as well as the use of chemical care products for water treatment.
Frequently asked questions for Pool robots:
Do not leave the cable in the pool all the time. After each use, remove it from the pool and unplug and turn off the cord. Wash the cable with clean water to remove chemical residues after each cleaning operation. Put the cable length into the pool according to pool dimensions, place the remaining cable at the pool edge, i.e. pull overflown cable out of the water. Place obstacles such as built-in pool ladders/installation ladders out of the pool to prevent the cable from getting caught.
Position the power supply so that the cleaner can easily reach all areas. Switch off the filter pump while cleaning with the pool vacuum. Enter the maximum possible length of the connection cable in the pool, but take into account a corresponding minimum distance between the control unit and the pool. Change the setting of the nozzles.
Clean the filter container/filter bag and remove slippery debris such as algae from the pool walls. Put the pool vacuum cleaner into the pool at the optimum water temperature. This is between 10°C and 35°C. Check the drive belts and brushes for wear and replace them if necessary. Set the PH value correctly. This should be between 7.0 and 7.2. Switch off the unit and let all the air escape. Mount the additional buoyancy aids from the scope of delivery.
Check the plug of the power cord and the control unit or the battery. Plug the control unit directly into a socket and do not use extension cables. Check your house line for overload, the socket may be defective. Contact a qualified electrician.
There is air in the pool vacuum, switch off the unit, let all the air escape and let the pool vacuum sink to the ground. If necessary, adjust the salt content correctly.
Check the wheels/drive belts for wear and foreign objects in the drive. Replace the wheels/drive belts if necessary.
Check whether the water level in the pool is too high and drain the water if necessary. If your pool liner is a little rough, the pool vacuum will have more grip. Carry out a reduction of the buoyancy. If you have a salt water pool, the buoyancy is slightly higher in salt water; reduce the buoyancy.

Our pool vacuums were designed for liner pools, the above materials have no grip or adhesion for the pool vacuum because the surfaces are too smooth.
Pull the cleaning hose and lift the automatic vacuum pool cleaner from the pool floor. The pool floor may be wrinkled, preventing the vacuum cleaner from moving. Check the water flow and make sure that the filter pump is switched on and has the appropriate power. Make sure that the gate valves are open. Clean or change the filter cartridge. For sand filter systems, you must backwash the filter.
You need to unblock or remove the cleaning lips because the sail, water outlet nozzle or cleaning lip may be stuck.
Automatic pool vacuum cleaners
Fully automatic pool vacuum cleaners or pool robots relieve you of the regular cleaning of your swimming pool. Especially on the walls and on the floor, deposits are created by the use of the pool and by the environment, which have to be removed. Dust, hair, leaves, skin particles and similar organic pollutants are carried into the pool. In order to prevent the growth of algae and other contaminants or to remove them, the pool robot is a decisive aid for cleaning.
Advantages of a suction robot
By using a self-propelled vacuum pool cleaner or a pool robot, you can considerably minimise the use of chemical care products for water treatment. The pool robot cleans the floor and pool independently. Please note that some models only clean the bottom. Combination models remove dirt from both the floor and the walls.
The performance of your sand filter- or cartridge filter system is supported by the automatic vacuum pool cleaner, as it already filters the dirty pool water. You can thus save energy and costs, as the daily running time of the filter system is minimised.
The purchase costs for a fully automatic floor and wall vacuum cleaner are initially higher than the costs for manual cleaning brushes and floor vacuums. However, the time you have to spend on regular cleaning is saved by using the automatic vacuum. The pool robot does most of the dirt removal on its own. All you have to do is place the robot in the water and select a desired programme. After the cleaning process, which usually takes an average of 1 to 2 hours - or even more if necessary - you lift the vacuum cleaner out of the water again and empty the collection net in which the dirt collects. Rinse the net thoroughly so that the pool robot is ready and functional for the next cleaning.
Pool robots: Making the right choice
When choosing the right pool robot or fully automatic vacuum pool cleaner for your pool, consider the following questions to meet your individual needs:
- Is it sufficient for you if the pool robot removes dirt from the floor or would you prefer a combination device that removes dirt from both the floor and the side walls?
- Should the automatic floor vacuum be conveniently controllable with your smartphone or tablet via app? Do you prefer automatic cleaning programmes that work without app control? Would you like a combination of both?
- What size is your pool? Remember: the larger the pool to be cleaned, the more powerful the pool robot must be.
- Should or can the robot be connected to your existing filter system? Is the power of the filter system sufficient to connect an external device?
- Do you prefer a fully automatic vacuum pool cleaner that has a high-performance pump so that it does not have to be connected to your filter system?
- What shape is your pool? Is it an above ground pool, a partial or complete in-ground pool or an overflow pool? Is your pool round, oval or rectangular? When choosing a vacuum pool cleaner or pool robot, please note that some models are not suitable for overflow pools.
- What is the condition of your pool? This is important when choosing the brushes of the pool robot in order not to cause damage or to guarantee the adhesion of the robot.
- What is the condition of the location? Is your swimming pool near trees or bushes? Please note that the less distance there is to trees and vegetation, the more impurities such as falling leaves or needles will get into your pool.
- How often and by how many people is the pool usually used?
- Have you had problems in the past with, for example, algae growth and therefore deposits on the walls or floor?
- How high is the budget that you have available for the purchase of an automatic pool robot?
No persons are allowed in the pool during the cleaning of the pool with pool robots.
Never let the automatic vacuum pool cleaner run without water, otherwise irreversible damage will occur. Remove larger amounts of dirt, such as piles of leaves, from the floor in advance to prevent blockages in the pool robot. A conventional bottom scraper is suitable for this purpose.
