Correctly adjusted pH value in the water

The most important thing for clean pool water is a correctly adjusted pH value. This should always be between 7.0 and 7.4 (ideally 7.2). The pH value is not constant. It changes constantly due to factors such as water temperature, bathing frequency, dirt ingress and other environmental influences. Therefore, you should carry out a pH measurement at least once or twice a week. If a pH value below 7.0 is measured, add pH-Plus. If the pH value is above 7.4, lower the value with pH-Minus. For optimal mixing, run the filter system for at least 24 hours after adjusting the pH.

Disinfection

If the pH value is suitable, carry out disinfection with chlorine products. Our Pool-Professional products dissolve without leaving residues and do not lead to deposits in the filter system. For the initial chlorination (shock chlorination), the chlorine content in the water is briefly raised between 3 to 5 mg/l with fast-soluble chlorine. Do not go swimming directly after shock chlorination, as the increased chlorine content is too aggressive for skin, eyes and mucous membranes.

Use slow-soluble chlorine for continuous dosing. The chlorine content should always be between 0.3 and 0.6 mg/l. Only add disinfectant when the chlorine level is below 0.3 mg/l. As an alternative to chlorine products, you can also use active oxygen for disinfection. Take into account that clear water can only work in conjunction with sufficient filtration.

Algaecides

Since normal disinfection is not sufficient against algae infestation, you should also use algaecides.
